The cost of studying in Russian universities ranges from 122 500 to 880,000 rubles ($ 1750-12570) per year, depending on the region, university and major. Students who are admitted to seats funded by the government on a competitive basis or who receive government scholarships (quotas) study free of charge and can also count on monthly scholarships. The minimum in Russia is 1,484 rubles ($ 22) for students of higher education institutions.
